Tartelette Tease Palette – Review

Right now Sephora stores have they’re VIB sale on. This means that if you are a VIB member you get 15% off of everything in the store or online. Being a Sephora lover I was very excited for this sale. But I tried to practice some restraint. I only ended up getting three things. A Naked2 palette from urban decay (review coming tomorrow), and urban decay brow beater, and a tartlette tease palette.  The tartlette tease palette was $25 CAD, and contains 6 eyeshadows, 4 mattes and 2 shimmers. I loved the colours in this palette and was very excited to try them being as I usually like tarte’s products.

L to R: whisper, wink, first kiss, crush, heartbreaker, bff.

Let me just start by saying I love this palette and I won’t be returning it. 5/6 colours in the palette are beautiful. However the shade ‘wink’ is not very pigmented and does not show up on my skin tone (as you can see in the swatches above). I had heard that the lighter shades in this palette weren’t very pigmented but since I am so pale I thought I would be okay. The shade whisper which is also very light shows up on me fine and it’s just the one shade that I don’t love.

That being said, this palette is super compact and easy to travel with and the other shades are amazing. My favourite is crush which is a really shimmery gold colour. They all smell of chocolate too which is a big plus in my books. All of these shades are perfect for anyone that loves neutrals and would be great for a beginner who wants a small palette to start out with.

This is an eye look I did really quick just to see how the shadows are. I used crush all over the lid, bff in the crease and on the lower lash line, and whisper on the brow bone and inner corner. I didn’t use primer, and they were still really pigmented and easy to blend. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and can’t wait to start using it.

Thanks for reading!
